Why do we need marigolds in the garden?
The plant is one of the most useful soil improvers. Thanks to its properties, marigolds are able to protect plantings from nematodes, beetles, insects and rodents.
It is useful to sow marigolds in individual areas of the garden and even the entire garden for the season.
What other purposes are marigolds used for?
In medicine, water infusions of marigold flowers are used if inflammatory skin processes are observed, and also as a diuretic, anthelmintic and diaphoretic.
What harm can marigolds cause?
Gardeners often plant marigolds near their beds to protect other plants from parasites. And indeed, this method works, thanks to the ability of marigolds to release phytoncides into the air.
However, such a neighbourhood cannot always be called favourable.
Marigolds are not planted with some plants. And the proximity of marigolds to cabbage will be especially unfavorable. They will suppress the growth and development of heads of cabbage.
It is also a bad idea to plant marigolds next to these crops:
- radish, horseradish, peas, beans, soybeans.
