If your garden space doesn't allow you to grow to your full potential, you can try growing zucchini in a bag.
This method is interesting, simple and popular among summer residents who own a small plot of land.
They first plant tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, carrots, and only then look for a free place for other crops. There is often no bed left for zucchini, so a simple method comes to the rescue.
What you will need
In this case, prepare:
- any bags (from root vegetables, sugar, or even thick garbage bags);
- mown grass, tops, husks, peelings, etc.;
- sand, garden soil, compost.
Thus, to plant zucchini, you need two things: a special container and a nutrient substrate.
How to plant zucchini
The bag is filled with organic matter by 1/3. Then sand and garden soil are added. The soil is supplemented with compost, if available.
It is not necessary to fill the bag to the brim. A 50 cm layer will be enough for the zucchini to grow and bear fruit. If the bag is too big, the edges are turned outward.
Small holes are made in the bottom of the bag through which excess moisture will escape. This way the roots will not rot.
For one bag - 1-2 seeds. When the plants begin to grow intensively, mulch the plantings.
