During flowering, strawberries need not only to be watered and have their shoots pinched off, but also fertilized.
Let's find out what you need to feed the plantings with during this important period, so that you can then transport the harvest from the dacha in buckets.
There is no procedure that can be neglected during the flowering period of strawberry bushes.
Everything is important: watering, cultivation, weeding, loosening, mulching and, of course, you can’t do without fertilizing.
How to feed strawberries
This is one of the important procedures. As is known, the first time the berry bush is fertilized is in early spring, as soon as the snow melts and the melt waters go away.
The second main feeding is carried out during flowering.
1. For this, you can prepare a herbal infusion. To do this, fill 1/3 of a bucket with chopped young nettles and pour water over everything.
You need to prepare it in advance so that the mixture can sit. It will be ready in 5-7 days.
2. Next, you need to prepare an ash infusion, for which you need 3 kg of ash per 10 liters of hot boiled water. Infuse for two days.
When both infusions are ready, you need to take 0.5 liters of each concentrate, mix and bring the total volume to 10 liters.
This solution is used for watering flowering strawberries.
