Many gardeners prefer not to fertilize petunias at all – they say, it grows, and that’s fine.

However, the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh is sure that lush flowering cannot be achieved without fertilizing.

The first time the nutrient composition should be added to the flower bed before the seedlings are planted there - 1 bucket of humus, compost or peat will be required per 1 square.

After digging, prepare holes for seedlings by placing 1 teaspoon filled with ash in each of them.

After 2 weeks, the fertilizer should be applied again. Organic matter is suitable for this - for example, cow manure mixed in a ratio of 1 to 10 with water and kept for 24 hours.

After a week, it is time for the ash infusion, prepared from 0.5 l of ash and 10 l of water.

Organic fertilizers can be replaced by mineral mixtures - "Agricola for flowers" or "Fertika Kristalon flower", which should be used in the form of a solution.

Throughout the season, you will only need to apply nutrients at intervals of every two weeks.

And those flower growers who want to make sure that even the greenery is not visible because of the flowers, need to use flowering stimulants, spraying them on the above-ground part. The first thing that comes to mind is a preparation called "Bud".
