How to protect gooseberries from spider mites without harming the plant: a simple and safe remedy

Gooseberry bushes are vulnerable to spider mites.

This pest often causes a sharp decrease in yield and sometimes even the death of the plant.

You can understand that the culture could not withstand the onslaught of a very small and barely noticeable representative of the arachnid class by studying the condition of the leaves.

If yellow or brown spots appear on them, things are bad. And if the silver web becomes visible, the situation is even worse.

The problem cannot be ignored: the plant will gradually lose its juice. As a result, the formation of fruits will slow down, and the risk of serious illnesses will increase.

And that's the best case scenario. In the worst case, the bushes may die altogether.

Usually, the fight against spider mites involves the use of special preparations. Thus, many insecticides are able to protect gooseberry bushes from the pest.

But some summer residents are not eager to use “chemicals”, since the latter often harms not only pests, but also the crop itself.

In such situations, natural remedies come to the rescue.

What helps fight spider mites

An infusion prepared from crushed garlic cloves often demonstrates effectiveness.

There should be about half a kilo of vegetable component per bucket of water.

After a couple of days, the prepared liquid should be diluted with water 2 times. You will get a product, drops of which should be poured over the gooseberry affected by the pest.

It is worth noting that the infusion can also be used as a preventative measure: spider mites are unlikely to be interested in a plant treated with such a liquid.
