The greenhouse helps summer residents to get a harvest of their favorite vegetables much earlier than usual.
But to ensure that growing tomatoes or cucumbers is not marred by the appearance of pests and diseases, it is important to prepare the structure for the new season.
Metal
In this case, there are 3 main options. Summer residents choose one of these recipes:
- vinegar solution – 50 ml per 1 liter of hot water (not higher than 60 °C);
- hydrogen peroxide (3%);
- potassium permanganate (1% solution).
Tree
If the greenhouse is made of wood, there are 4 options to choose from:
- copper sulfate – 500 g per 10 l;
- whitewashing with slaked lime - 3 kg of lime and 500 g of copper sulfate per 10 l of water;
- bleach – 400 g per bucket of water (leave for 3-4 hours);
- tobacco checker.
Plastic
To prevent diseases or pests from appearing in a plastic greenhouse, gardeners use a 1% solution of Bordeaux mixture, tobacco cones or special disinfectants.
If the plants have not been sick before
In this case, treatment is carried out with a vinegar solution, hydrogen peroxide or potassium permanganate.
