In spring, you may notice that winter garlic is starting to turn yellow.
Some people do not pay attention to this, believing that it will not affect the quality of the harvest.
But this is a misconception. The appearance of a yellow tint often indicates an insufficient amount of nitrogen, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, a landscape designer and agronomist.
What should you water the crop with when negative changes appear?
Sometimes it is enough to carry out just one procedure to saturate winter garlic with nitrogen to the required extent. This will help the plant to develop fully and give a normal harvest.
The easiest way to do this is to use ammonia. Three spoons of it are added to a standard ten-liter bucket of water and watering is carried out.
If after a few days there are no positive changes, then you can carry out an additional procedure that will definitely help to cope with the problem.
To do this, you need to prepare a spray mixture. Its composition is simple: three large spoons of hydrogen peroxide per 10 liters of water.
