Green onions can be grown throughout the season, and on a windowsill – all year round.
Many summer residents plant it, but not everyone knows what to water the plant with to get an enviable harvest.
How to water onions for good growth
A nutrient mixture is prepared for the plant, which leads to explosive growth of green mass.
Urea (25 g) is dissolved in water (8-10 l). The resulting mixture is poured onto the onion at the root.
But before this, the soil is moistened with ordinary water so that the fertilizer is as useful as possible and does not harm the roots.
What to water onions with to prevent them from rotting
Summer residents often encounter rotting onions. To avoid this unpleasant consequence of excessive soil moisture, simple preventive measures are taken.
Periodically, the onion is watered with salt water. Add 100 g of salt to 10 liters of water, and also supplement the composition with 4 tbsp. of ammonia and 5-7 crystals of potassium permanganate. The solution consumption is 5 liters per 1 sq. m.
