Yellow-orange and red spots on pear leaves are a clear sign that the tree has fallen ill with a fairly common disease.

Rust is a fungal disease that can not only ruin a crop, but also kill a plant.

Why does rust appear?

The disease is caused by a fungus that can be spread by juniper. That is why gardeners do not recommend planting the coniferous shrub next to pear and other fruit trees.

Prevention

First of all, you need to monitor the health of the juniper. If the bush is sick, then the affected branches are cut off. If the disease has spread to the pear, then they are also removed. All affected shoots are burned.

To minimize the risk of rust, trees are treated with a 3% Bordeaux mixture.

For 1-2 liters of hot water, use 300 g of copper sulfate. In a separate container, combine 300-400 g of lime. Then pour 5 liters of water into each bucket, mix, and pour the lime mixture in a thin stream into the container with copper sulfate.

The result is a sky-blue solution, which is sprayed on the pear tree in early spring.

How to fight

There are many chemical preparations, but gardeners are also saved by folk remedies. Among them, for example, is an infusion of wood ash. It is prepared as follows: 1 kg of ash is poured into 20 liters of water and infused for 48 hours. The solution is filtered and the affected trees are sprayed.
