Many summer residents begin preparing for planting in the fall, adding nutrients and organic fertilizers to the soil.

This approach is commendable and correct, but not everyone finds the strength and opportunity to engage in this procedure in late autumn.

Therefore, there is a simple way to prepare the soil for planting cucumbers in the spring.

What does it consist of?

It is best to begin preparing the soil approximately 14 days before the expected date of planting cucumbers, advises agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert for the online publication BelNovosti.

To begin with, you need to “remove” about forty centimeters of the top layer of soil in the cucumber beds.

We put straw or ordinary grass left over from last year into the soil. In order for plant remains to decompose faster, you can also add a small amount of ammonium nitrate.

Afterwards we “close” the nutrient composition with soil.

When planting, you can also put fertilizers directly into the hole with cucumbers. Most often, summer residents prefer azofoska or potassium sulfate.
