In order for plants to feel comfortable, you need not only the right soil composition and optimal microclimate, but also the right size of the pot. Everything depends on the root system.

Flowers with small roots and bulbs can be grown in shallow containers.

This is suitable for sansevieria, fern, Uzamber violet, episcia, cyclamen, amaryllis and hippeastrum.

Larger pots and a large amount of soil in them will harm these plants, as the soil will not penetrate the roots, which will lead to oxidation. To make the flowers comfortable, loosen the soil and water properly.

For large flowers with a well-developed root system, you should choose appropriate pots.

However, a pot that is too big can also harm the plant - the root system will begin to rot or develop rapidly, which will interfere with flowering. To prevent this from happening, before replanting the plant, you need to learn about the basic rules for caring for it. For example, ficus and roses need narrow and fairly deep pots.

Schefflera will need a drainage layer of 7 cm, so the pot should be deep. Oleander, lemon and palm trees are kept in large pots.

Also, many people grow bonsai at home - a tree with a developed root system. It is better to keep a large bonsai in a spacious pot.

An even larger container will be needed for ficus benjamina, bougainvillea, pine, and sometimes for cactus and aloe.
