Every summer resident wants to get an early harvest of any vegetable. Many grow tomatoes and eagerly await their fruits.
The time of their appearance depends largely on the climate, the soil characteristics on the land plot and on the land itself. But they can always be shortened.
A few tips will help you get tomato fruits already in May.
Choose the right variety
Preference should be given to those that ripen 90-100 days after seed germination.
Early and ultra-early varieties are suitable: "Dachnik", "Boni MM", "Alpha" and similar.
Seed preparation
To obtain an early harvest, it will not be enough to simply disinfect the seeds by placing them in a solution of potassium permanganate for 15 minutes.
Soaking the planting material in aloe juice will help to achieve shoots faster. It will need to be diluted 1:1 with water.
Soil for seedlings
You can buy one ready-made. There is an option to make your own soil mixture from biohumus, rotted compost, turf soil and sand.
A glass of wood ash should be added to a bucket of this composition. The resulting soil should be treated with potassium permanganate.
Growing seedlings
The containers with it should be kept at 23-25 degrees during the first days after planting. After the sprouts appear, the containers should be moved to a cool room for 7-10 days.
After this time, you need to keep the tomatoes at room temperature again, provide additional lighting and feed them with the addition of complex fertilizer.
Tomatoes in a greenhouse
Plants should be replanted there when there is no threat of frost. Warm, settled water should be used for watering.
A week after transplantation, tomatoes should be watered with Fitosporin-M. At the beginning of the growing season, nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus preparations should be added.
