Aphids are one of the most terrible pests. These insects can destroy plants and deprive the harvest if measures are not taken in time.

But how do you know if your plantings have been attacked? Let's look at the example of currants.

Still, summer residents love this bush, since the plant pleases with healthy and tasty berries, which serve as an excellent addition to the diet.

The crop is most often affected by two types of aphids: gall aphids - red and white, and gooseberry aphids - black. In the first case, red spots in the form of swellings appear on the leaves, and in the second case, the leaves curl at the tops.

How to deal with aphids

Usually this type of pest hides on the back of leaves. The easiest way to control it is to wash it off with a sharp stream of water from a hose.

You can pay attention to chemical and biological preparations, which are easy to find in specialized stores.

Experienced summer residents prefer folk methods, which are also effective.

For example, you can use soda.

To do this, dissolve 10 tablespoons of baking soda in a bucket of water. It is advisable to add about 30-40 grams of laundry soap to a 10-liter bucket.

More effective for spraying is soda ash with added iodine. The composition is also very easy to prepare. It is enough to take 2 tablespoons of the product and 1 teaspoon of iodine per 10-liter bucket of clean water. It is advisable to add 2 tablespoons of liquid laundry or tar soap.
