Summer residents who use coniferous trees to decorate their plots often have to deal with such a problem as sunburn.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told what should be done in this case to help the plants recover.
1. Immediately after the snow melts, you should begin actively watering the affected plants. It would also be a good idea to pour water over the crown.
2. After the weather outside becomes steadily warm with a temperature of +10..+12 degrees, spray the crowns of conifers with preparations such as "Zircon" and "Epin".
3. With the arrival of spring, it becomes clear whether there are still living buds on the burnt shoots.
If the buds have died, the branches should be cut off completely, down to living tissue. Don't forget to treat the cut areas - garden var, well known to summer residents, is suitable for this.
If the buds have survived, the branches should be left - they will begin to grow and produce new shoots.
4. The fourth step in the plan to save coniferous trees is also not difficult: it is necessary to pay special attention to the care (watering and fertilizing) of plants that have suffered from sunburn.
Remember: the first time you can apply fertilizer only after active growth begins.
