Sometimes, due to excessive humidity in the room, mold appears in flower pots. It can be black or white.

Black mold can cause harm to the plant itself and to the inhabitants of the house. It can cause an allergic reaction.

White mold appears due to excessive moisture and heat.

The soil in the pot becomes dense, so the plant cannot breathe.

The mineral composition and acidity of the soil are disrupted. If nothing is done, the plant may die in the near future.

Causes of mold:

  • watering with poor quality water;
  • frequent moisturizing in large quantities;
  • There is no drainage in the pot or the holes are blocked.

How to deal with this problem

As soon as mold appears, you need to take certain measures immediately. White mold immediately penetrates the entire soil. First, you need to remove the top layer of soil and water the soil with a weak pink solution of manganese. After that, add new soil, coal, a little sand and water the soil with a solution of "Fitosporin-M".

It would be even better to replace the soil in the pots with new soil. From time to time, you need to water the flowers with a solution of "Fitosporin-M". It will protect the plant from mold, fungal spores and feed them. Water the flowers when the soil dries out. After watering, be sure to loosen the soil.

Preventive measures

  1. Pots should have drainage holes so that water does not stagnate in them.
  2. Choose soil that contains trichoderma and charcoal.
  3. Make sure the lighting is of good quality, because mold does not tolerate it.
  4. Feed the flowers with ash infusion.
