If you do not treat currants in early spring, you may be left without a harvest in the summer and without vitamins in the winter.

This is not such an overwhelming science, but it has its secrets and rules. Before you start processing, you need to find out which insects you will have to confront.

Currant pests

The main parasite, which also winters on the bushes themselves, is the kidney mite. In addition to it, aphids, glassworms and many others attack the harvest. That's already a lot for one bush.

You need to start in early spring, before the parasites become active.

How to treat currants

1. Before the buds wake up, you can use fungicides. They help to cope with pathogens of fungal diseases. Insecticides are used against insects at this time.

Specifically, acaricides are used against kidney mites.

2. For fans of environmentally friendly means of caring for plants, hot water is the only option left for this time. The bushes are doused with boiled water at a temperature of about 80 degrees. It is better to tie the branches in advance and douse the bushes from a watering can for 3-5 seconds. Consumption is 10 liters per 3 bushes.

But if the buds have already swollen, they may die along with the pests.

3. Gardeners also use iron sulfate for treatment, and again before the leaves appear. The working solution is prepared from 300 g of the product per 10 liters of water.

If you add urea, you can get rid of mycelium and clutches of insect pests.

But after treatment with urea, the buds on the bushes bloom later.
