If houseplants tell each other scary stories, most of them involve an office with cold windowsills, constant drought, and a monster employee who waters the hero of the story with unfinished tea and coffee.

But among the green heroes there will definitely be one or two that will not only survive in such harsh conditions, but will even feel good. To liven up an office space with flowers, it is important to choose them correctly.

Then they will decorate the interior, make people happy, and grow well themselves.

Cactus

The cactus is ideal for placing on the desktop. It is a compact plant that does not interfere with work. It does not grow leaves, does not have long tendrils that take up half the table, it does not need to be trimmed and shaped.

It feels great without watering in winter and with rare watering in summer, tolerates dry air, does not need regular fertilizing. The only thing it needs is good lighting, which is usually not a problem in offices.

Pike tail

Sansevieria, or pike tail, is one of the best plants for the office. It does not need frequent watering, it does not need to be trimmed, shaped, dry leaves removed or even fed. Pike tail grows well in a tight pot, tolerates winter cold, dry air and even watering with that notorious office tea.

Grows equally well both on a sunny windowsill and in a dark corner away from the window. The only thing to consider is the decrease in decorativeness with a lack of light.

Nephrolepis

Nephorolepis is a type of fern that is ideal for planting and forgetting. It is a great solution for hanging pots and tall cabinets where human hands cannot reach.

These plants do not react well to frequent replanting, do not like to be touched - turned, stroked, leaves adjusted. If there is a place in the office where the nephrolepis will live in proud solitude, it will definitely like it there.

Another advantage of this plant is its shade tolerance. In nature, ferns grow in the forest, in the shade of trees, so the pot can be placed in a corner far from the window.

Ivy

There are offices where plants are often flooded. They die from excess moisture, since in most cases, flowers that are resistant to droughts grow in office premises, so over-watering is detrimental to them.

If you have this problem at work, try to get ivy. Of course, it also does not like over-watering, but it copes with it much better than cacti or pike tail.

Ivy grows quickly, consumes a lot of moisture, grows both in the sun and in the shade, and forms a beautiful cascade of vines if it is occasionally trimmed. To grow beautiful ivy, you will have to work a little, but it will thank you with abundant greenery.
