After using folk remedies, poisons and traps, ants will not leave the area because of the pests that attract them.
Therefore, first of all, it is not the ants that need to be fought. It is the aphids that not only cause damage to trees and bushes, but also attract ants.
Ants' Companions
First, the ants need to be deprived of their food supply. Aphids provide the insects with tasty and nutritious food. In exchange, the ants move their feeders over long distances.
If there are a lot of aphids, there will be a lot of ants. Any attempt to exterminate the latter will most likely be unsuccessful as long as the aphids are infesting the garden.
How to get rid of aphids
You can use a cheap folk remedy. For 10 liters of water take 4-5 tbsp. of liquid soap or dishwashing detergent.
It is better to use products that do not contain strong fragrances, as their smell attracts pests. The classic recipe uses laundry soap.
Another ideal option is tar soap. Its sharp aroma is perfect in this case. Use 100 g of soap, which is dissolved in 10 liters of water and the resulting liquid is sprayed on the plants captured by aphids.
