When growing dill in our garden plot, we expect that it will please us with its lush and fragrant greenery, but no one wants to see spreading umbrellas in the dill beds.

According to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , in this case it is worth purchasing seeds of special varieties of dill.

But even without visiting a specialty store, you can ensure that the dill does not bloom for a long time and opens its umbrellas closer to autumn, the harvesting season, when they are needed.

In addition, summer residents who have tried this method unanimously say that the greens become more juicy and their aroma is more intense.

First, you should take care of pre-sowing seed treatment. To do this, put the dill seeds in gauze bags, which should be immersed in hot water (temperature about 50 degrees) for 3 days.

To maintain the necessary conditions, you will have to change the water at least 5 times a day.

After this, transfer the seed material to a damp canvas and cover it with the same piece of cloth. The dill should remain in this state for another 5 days, after which the bags should be dried by hanging them in a well-ventilated place for half an hour.

And here is the main secret - to prevent dill from blooming for a long time, it should be planted not in rows, but in clumps in holes 10-15 cm in size. After the seeds are in the ground, sprinkle them with soil and water them well.
