Late blight affects not only tomato beds, but is no less dangerous for potato plantings.

Science has not yet come up with a way that would reliably protect plantings from infection. Therefore, summer residents save themselves from the disease as best they can. Here is one of the effective options.

Fight against late blight

On affected plants, the above-ground parts (stems, fruits and ovaries, leaves) begin to rot, and the root system is also affected.

Late blight mainly affects two representatives of the nightshade family – potatoes and tomatoes.

In addition to preventive measures, you can try one simple and effective method of protection.

First, the risk of disease transmission through seeds must be eliminated.

To do this, the seeds and soil where the seedlings will grow are treated with a manganese solution.

Secondly, copper sulfate treatment is carried out when transplanting seedlings. It is important to treat the holes as well. This is a reliable antiseptic and antibacterial agent.

Thirdly, you need to choose crops for planting that have maximum resistance to this disease.

This mainly applies to hybrids. But it is impossible to exclude 100% infection with late blight even if all agricultural practices are followed.
