Other experts are sure that there is no need to rush. Onions are not afraid of light frosts, but they actively develop in warm soil, so it is better to wait until the soil warms up to +12 °C.
When to plant seedlings
The seedlings are transferred to open ground around the end of April – beginning of May. Therefore, seeds can be sown already in March.
When using the lunar calendar, it is important to monitor the phases of the moon - the waning moon is most favorable for this.
In March 2023, good days for sowing onion seeds are 3, 5, 8, 13-22, 24-28. In April of this year, the following dates: 1, 5, 8, 9, 13, 18, 19, 27, 28.
