For several weeks now, summer residents have been actively sowing their crops. During this period, special attention is paid to tomatoes, peppers and eggplants.

The most demanding of the three are, of course, the "blue ones". Here are the mistakes gardeners make when growing these seedlings.

Eggplants take longer to cook than their fellow nightshades, peppers and tomatoes. Potatoes don't count.

Therefore, to get an early harvest, some people sow seeds for seedlings at the end of January. But you still shouldn't forget about the timing.

When to transplant eggplants

By this time, the seedlings should be at least 60-70 days old. Therefore, you need to have a clear idea of where these plants will continue to grow after this period.

Greenhouse

For an early harvest of eggplants, a capital greenhouse is needed. And even in this case, do not rush and plant seedlings before April 25. In order not to make a mistake in the calculations, you need to add 10 days to the age of the seedlings for germination and 2-3 days for seed preparation. So it turns out that for transplanting seedlings into a greenhouse, eggplants should not be sown before February 5-10.

The exception is a heated greenhouse.

Greenhouse

This structure looks like a greenhouse, but it is not. Eggplants are planted under cover in open ground around May 15. The bushes are covered with film, agrofibre, etc. The main condition for transplanting to the beds is the absence of recurrent frosts, which means not earlier than the gardens have finished blooming according to popular belief, or even before the beginning of June.

Arithmetic means show that in this case, seeds should be sown for seedlings in the period from February 25 to March 5.

Open ground

In this case, you can start in mid-March and carry out sowing within 10 days, i.e. in the period from March 15 to 25.
