What to do with petunia seedlings if they have stretched out: colossal benefits

01.03.2023 07:50

Many gardeners, dreaming of lush petunia bushes, take all sorts of preventive measures to prevent seedlings from stretching.

First of all, as soon as the flower seeds are placed in the ground, they should be covered with film and placed under powerful lamps.

However, sometimes any prevention turns out to be ineffective, and the seedlings still stretch out.

In this case, you will need a toothpick, the lower end of which should be placed in the soil at a distance of 1 mm from the stem of the plant.

Using a downward motion and towards the seedling, carefully insert the toothpick down to the cotyledon leaves.

It looks like you are pulling the seedling down into the soil by the root with a toothpick.

There is no need to worry that such a procedure will harm the petunias - on the contrary, it will only benefit them.

Once you have deepened the seedlings in this way, they will begin to develop faster and will no longer be afraid of such troubles as falling and black leg.
