In this case, you will need a toothpick, the lower end of which should be placed in the soil at a distance of 1 mm from the stem of the plant.
Using a downward motion and towards the seedling, carefully insert the toothpick down to the cotyledon leaves.
It looks like you are pulling the seedling down into the soil by the root with a toothpick.
There is no need to worry that such a procedure will harm the petunias - on the contrary, it will only benefit them.
Once you have deepened the seedlings in this way, they will begin to develop faster and will no longer be afraid of such troubles as falling and black leg.
