According to experienced gardeners, petunia is the plant that is most difficult to sow and grow until the moment of picking.
But if the first 3 weeks go smoothly, then you don’t have to worry about further growth and development.
And as soon as the first shoots appear, containers with petunias planted in them should be immediately placed under powerful lamps. This is the only way to protect the plantings from stretching.
In the same case, if the lamp power is not enough, this problem cannot be avoided.
As you know, weak long stems very quickly go to the other world, in addition, the risk of black leg appearing increases significantly.
In this case, the microbiological preparation "Fitolavin" or "Fitosporin" will come to the rescue (but it is important to dilute it correctly).
The mentioned means should be used when the seedlings are already “dying”, but of course, you shouldn’t let them get to that state.
An excellent preventive measure in such a situation would be to sprinkle vermiculite on the petunia seedlings. It will rid the plantings of excess liquid and prevent the soil from becoming "waterlogged", thus saving the plants from over-watering the soil, which is detrimental to the root system.
