Gardeners are wrong to disdain the rose hip. If you look into it, it is more useful than a varietal rose.
The plant acts as a hedge, blooms colorfully, fragrantly and colourfully, and at the end of the season leaves useful fruits - a source of vitamin C. Is it worth feeding?
Of course it is worth it, even if the rose hips only grow as a hedge and no one ever picks the fruit from them.
Fertilizing rose hips
In fact, it is an unpretentious plant, but even it needs some care in the form of fertilizers. This care should be shown already in the second year after planting the bush.
The first feeding takes place at the beginning of spring.
The second feeding is for the summer period (June-July), while young shoots are actively growing.
In both the first and second cases, nitrogen fertilizers are added, which accelerates the growth of the bush.
When the plant reaches four years, add 3-5 kg of compost under the bush every three years. After that, loosen the soil and mulch the root zone.
At the same time, don’t forget about watering, and then the rose hips will delight you with flowers and fruits.
