An expert of the online publication Belnovosti , agronomist and author of the blog Conscious Gardening Anastasia Kovrizhnykh explained the benefits and disadvantages of the newfangled method.
The ground in the greenhouse is covered with foil. Even in cloudy weather, plants receive more light. Any additional lighting is useful for plantings.
In addition, foil is a good mulching material if it is laid tightly and the corners are pressed to the ground.
The benefit is that moisture evaporates more slowly and a serious obstacle is created for weeds.
Despite a number of advantages, ordinary gardeners do not have a special need to buy foil for a greenhouse. For such cases, there is a famous expression: "The game is not worth the candle."
Much more effectively and with less effort, foil can be used during the cultivation of seedlings. The essence of the material is also to provide additional lighting, but the costs and amount of work are much less.
