With the arrival of warm weather, the first beds gradually appear in the garden, signaling the beginning of a new season.

Parsley, which is considered an unpretentious crop, is one of the first to be sown in open ground.

However, breaking one simple rule can deprive you of the harvest. Parsley will not please you with shoots.

Cold soil

There is no need to rush to plant this greenery. Parsley needs warm soil. The plant seeds contain essential oils, which prevent development if the soil is cold.

Therefore, parsley is sown around the end of April. The greens can withstand temperatures down to +3 °C. The plant develops well at +18 …+20 °C.

Planting depth

When sowing parsley, you should not make too deep holes. In this case, everything depends on the density of the soil. For example, if you sprinkle light peat soil, you can plant deeper than 1 cm.

There is a universal planting depth for parsley, which is equal to three sizes of the seed.
