Not all pest control methods are created equal, so it's best to know right away what you shouldn't waste your time on.
You don't need chemicals to get rid of ants. But don't grab the first folk remedy you come across in the kitchen.
Film with jam
There is a "trick" according to which you need to take a film and smear it with jam. Supposedly, insects will come running to feast on the sweetness, but will stick. Then all that remains is to collect the film and throw it away or burn it.
In practice, this advice does not work. Ants, on the contrary, will be grateful for such a generous gift in the form of jam.
Blocking moves
Some craftsmen cover the anthill with millet. The insects' paths are blocked, but only for a while. The hard-working ants will quickly clear the way out.
Cinnamon
Ground spice is sprinkled on an anthill, believing that the smell will repel pests. In fact, this trick may work indoors, but not outdoors.
