Experienced gardeners have identified actions that will awaken geraniums after winter and stimulate flowering.

This plant is usually kept in a cool room during the cold season. In such conditions, the geranium gains strength and rests.

At the end of February, the flower needs special attention. First, it needs to be brought out of hibernation. Second, it needs to be given the basis for lush flowering.

If you do everything right, you may not have to wait until mid-June. The plant may bloom as early as spring.

Processing

First, the geranium is treated against diseases. Sprayed with any biological fungicide. Then use any preparation against pests. After a few days, move on to the next step.

Transfer

The geranium is carefully removed from the pot, the old soil is shaken off so as not to damage the roots. A more spacious container is chosen, a drainage layer is poured in.

Peat tablets are poured with boiling water, and after 5 minutes, regular soil and a little vermiculite are added. The components are mixed.

The resulting mixture is poured into a new pot. A little universal fertilizer can be placed on top of the drainage, and then covered with substrate.

Trimming

After transplantation, trimming is carried out. 7 cm are measured from the ground level and all shoots are trimmed to this height. The cut site can be sprinkled with activated carbon to protect the plant from infection.
