Flower growers call such a fungal disease as powdery mildew their nightmare.
This disease, according to the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , can affect not only leaves and shoots, but also rose buds.
It appears as a white fluffy coating, after which the pink buds begin to fade.
Since powdery mildew can attack a flower bed both at the beginning of the growth of bushes and during flowering and even in autumn, roses will have to be treated three times per season.
The first treatment is carried out as soon as the soil has dried out - the soil in which the roses grow should be watered with a solution of potassium permanganate, and the shoots and soil should be sprinkled with sifted ash that remains after burning the tree.
Repeated treatment is carried out after a week. To do this, fill a 10-liter bucket with water and dissolve 50 g of urea in it. Spray the roses and soil with the resulting solution.
This option is suitable if the plantings were not sick last year. If powdery mildew was noticed last year, you will have to use a 1% solution of Bordeaux mixture.
Bordeaux mixture can be replaced with other fungicides.
