A modern summer resident does not need to rack his brains over how and with what to protect garden or vegetable crops from pest infestations.

One visit to a specialized store is enough, where you can buy both products for garden treatment and for catching insects that fly or crawl.

Different periods of the summer cottage season require different traps. They are for crawling and flying pests, and by the nature of the action - sticky, poisoned and dry.

Making an adhesive belt

It is not wise to simply spread the adhesive substance on the tree bark. The composition is applied only to the removable base.

You will need cling film. A piece 9-9.5 cm wide is wound around the trunk, and then holes are made in the base so that the bark does not rot.

The easiest adhesive material to use is tar. The material will have to be renewed periodically.

Making a dry belt

There are two options. You can wrap the trunk with a piece of glass wool of the same width, and wrap it with film on top so that it does not get wet. Insects will not get through under this barrier.

You can take burlap, wrap it around the tree trunk in 3-4 layers and fix its upper part to the trunk. From under such a skirt you will have to periodically (at least once every 10-15 days) remove beetles and caterpillars.

Crafting a poisoned belt

The same option as with a dry belt, only the burlap will need to be soaked in bitoxybacillin or 1% lepidocide before being secured to the tree.

The structure will last for 2-3 months, but only if it is protected from rain from above.
