Many gardeners strive to feed their indoor plants and save money at the same time, so they use folk remedies.
There are many compositions from the arsenal of folk wisdom for house flowers. But not all of them are useful and safe for "green pets".
For example, the Internet was captivated by the trick with oat broth. It is believed that this remedy is almost the best for indoor plants.
But behind the promises that the infusion will stimulate flowering, protect against pests and strengthen the root system, something completely different is hidden.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti , an agronomist and the author of the blog Conscious Gardening, does not recommend watering indoor flowers with oat broth.
The infusion will rather stimulate the reproduction of harmful bacteria and pests than flowering. The product will not bring any benefit to the plant, so it is just a waste of products.
Oatmeal is good for humans, but for plants it is better to buy a complex fertilizer, which contains all the necessary substances for the “green pet”.
