Garlic is an unpretentious crop, which, as gardeners believe, can grow without additional care.
However, such a harvest will not always please with its quality and volume. In order for the heads to be large and juicy, it will be necessary to properly organize the feeding.
How to properly feed garlic
During the period of growth and development, from planting to the formation of heads, garlic needs nutrition.
Any fertilizers must be applied in a timely manner and in the required quantity, otherwise they can harm the plants.
Particular emphasis is placed on spring fertilizing, since it is at this time that the future harvest is laid.
Yeast
To prepare a nutritious top dressing, dissolve 100 g of raw yeast in a bucket of warm water. Let the solution stand for 24 hours, then strain through a sieve or gauze and you can water: 5 l per 1.5 m2.
Ammonia
It is used for root and foliar feeding of plants and flowers. The aqueous solution of ammonia is mixed with water at the rate of 10-12 ml per 5 liters of water.
The prepared solution is sprayed on the tops against pests and diseases.
For greater stickiness, add a little laundry soap to the prepared solution. The treatment is carried out no more than once every 7 days.
