There are several methods for growing seedlings. Nikolay Kurdyumov's method will help you get a good harvest.

Kurdyumov believes that good seedlings should grow almost without human help.

There should be no unnecessary transplants; there needs to be enough warmth, light and moisture.

Basics of planting seedlings using the Kurdyumov method

• In the fall, you should prepare containers with fertile soil and put them in a place where they will not freeze. If necessary, you can add humus or peat. The agronomist notes that the soil composition is not so important.

• Tomatoes and cucumbers should be planted in a 4x4 cm pattern.

• The seedlings should be spacious, not crowded. The place should be chosen so that it faces the sun, so that there is natural light. A phytolamp may be needed, because insufficient light can lead to the death of the seeds.

• If the fruits were planted according to the 4 by 4 centimeters scheme, then after twenty days the sprouts should be removed from the container together with the soil. Kurdyumov notes that the seedlings should not feel the transplantation. The soil is cut into cubes, and these cubes with roots should be placed in the soil so that they feel spacious. Planting in the ground is carried out according to the 12x12 cm scheme.

• After another 15-20 days, the soil is cut into cubes. Then the seedlings need to be transplanted into the beds. The duration of all processes takes about 40 days. By the end of March, the plants are already growing outside. But since there may be cold weather, they need to be covered with film so that they do not freeze.

Expert advice

To prevent seedlings from burning, the agronomist recommends using lutrasil to cover the beds.

The specialist notes that cucumbers should be grown in separate pots, because they do not tolerate even the slightest damage to the root system. In order not to disturb the plants later, they should be transplanted immediately to a permanent location.

Frost-resistant varieties of cabbage grow better at low temperatures, so they should be planted immediately in beds under lutrasil. And in the heat it will not be possible to achieve a fertile harvest.

Kurdyumov notes that in order to avoid bad results with plants, you need to water them as much as possible and cover them with lutrasil.

If the root system is not damaged during transplantation, the plants will quickly and painlessly take root in a new place. Also, do not plant the plants too close, and they need to be transplanted at a certain time, otherwise you will not achieve a successful result.
