It is very easy to buy fertilizer in the store and apply it to the plants using clear instructions. But this method has its drawbacks. Chemically synthesized preparations have many disadvantages, biological ones are expensive.

And the purchase itself is associated with difficulties. The favorite fertilizer is suddenly removed from production, or the nearest store stops delivering it. Therefore, summer residents are increasingly switching to fertilizers prepared independently.

And they not only get good harvests, but often double them, since homemade fertilizers are more effective.

Compost

If you want to completely abandon commercial fertilizers, you will have to master composting skills. Many people think that it is enough to dump grass and leaves in a pile to get compost. Sometimes this approach works, but most often the compost is of low quality.

There are many ways to compost. In order for the organic recycling processes to go the right way, you need to create the appropriate conditions for them. Some use the method of regularly moving the compost heap from place to place. Some add urea to provide nitrogen to the recycling bacteria, some replace urea with green grass. There are many options, you just need to choose the right one.

Walker

A fermentation of green grass is a process of fermentation. You need to put fresh grass in a container, filling it 2/3 full, add water and leave it in a warm place for 5-7 days. Stir it once a day. The result is an excellent nitrogen fertilizer. You only need to dilute a liter of the resulting fermentation in 10 liters of water and feed the plants.
In this case, different approaches are used. Some simply ferment the grass, some add yeast, some EM preparations.

Ash

If the main source of nitrogen is green fermentation, then the source of potassium and phosphorus is ash. Ash can be added during digging (approximately 1 glass per 1 sq.m.), or infusions can be made. The simplest infusion is 1 glass of ash per 10 liters of water. Infuse for a day.

Important! Ash has a strong alkaline reaction, therefore it deacidifies the soil. It is irreplaceable on acidic soils, but on alkaline and neutral soils its application requires caution.

These are the three main and most effective sources of nutrition for home-made plants. With the right approach, they can not only replace purchased fertilizers, but also significantly increase the yield. After all, these are natural fertilizers that increase soil fertility and provide plants with nutrition in a form accessible to them.
