Potatoes are perhaps the crop that can be found in every garden.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh notes that if you want to collect a decent potato harvest, you should take care to protect it from pests.
In particular, we are talking about the Colorado potato beetle.
Many means have been created to combat this parasite, but if you do not want to water your beds with “chemicals”, you can use folk methods to combat the insect.
This solution makes potato leaves unpalatable to beetles, so some of them will leave your plot forever, and some will die right there.
To prepare it, you will need to add the following ingredients to 10 liters of water:
- 100 g mustard powder;
- ½ teaspoon salt;
- 100 ml 9% vinegar.
All components should be thoroughly mixed, and then the mixture should be strained - this will get rid of lumps of mustard that can clog the spray bottle.
The plantings should be treated as soon as you see the Colorado potato beetle. However, gardeners who have tried this method claim that each time there will be fewer and fewer pests.
