What kind of container can you store potatoes in: not only in bags

To store potatoes, you can use different types of containers.

The most common option is mesh bags. Such products are easy to carry, and the contents are clearly visible, so you will immediately notice if any of the tubers have started to spoil.

However, this is not the only solution. Potatoes can also be stored in double wire mesh containers with small cells.

This device is chosen by summer residents who are afraid that the harvest may be eaten by rodents - the double mesh prevents mice from getting to the tubers.

If there is nothing to fear, storage in canvas bags is allowed, which are convenient to stack, placing one on top of the other.

Wooden boxes will protect potatoes from spoilage - in such devices, air circulation is not disturbed, which means that rot will not develop here.

However, you should not put more than 10 kg in one container. In addition, you cannot place wooden boxes directly on the floor of the storage facility - the distance from the floor should not be less than 15-20 cm.

The same gap should be left between the boxes themselves, so the best choice would be to place them on shelves.

Finally, some people store potatoes in lightweight plastic containers. This method is usually suitable for those who occasionally buy a kilo or two of vegetables at the store, rather than buying them in bags.
