Inexperienced gardeners often make gross mistakes when preparing compost.
According to the expert of the online publication "Belnovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , the most common "misdeed" is adding unsuitable materials to compost.

So, the following cannot be composted:
1. Food waste of animal origin, simply put meat, fish, fatty foods and the like.
2. Animal and human feces – no place for diapers!
3. Plants or sawdust that have been treated with chemicals.
4. Remains of plants on which signs of disease were observed, as well as seeded weeds.
5. Substances that are difficult to rot or do not decompose at all. These include plastic, glass, synthetic materials, large pieces of wood, etc.
6. Poisonous plants, which include foxglove, castor oil plant, aconite, broom, lily of the valley, potato and tomato tops.
