Useless fertilizer for seedlings: summer residents try, but it does not have time to work

You shouldn't completely give up this fertilizer, but it's better to look for something else for seedlings.

Thrifty gardeners adhere to the slogan: "Waste into income." They try to extract maximum benefit from everything, so as not to spend an extra penny in the garden store.

Everything is used – tea leaves, coffee grounds, fruit peels, onion skins and many other wastes.

The extensive list also includes eggshells. Gardeners claim that this is one of the best sources of calcium for plants.

It is enough to simply crush the shell (the smaller, the better) and add it to the soil. But the expert of the online publication " Belnovosti ", agronomist and author of the blog "Conscious Gardening" Anastasia Kovrizhnykh has a different opinion on this matter.

According to her, calcium is unlikely to reach the plants in such soil. The agronomist advises to do otherwise.

It is better to crush the shells and send them straight to the beds. There, the beneficial bacteria will do everything to ensure that the calcium ends up in the soil and then reaches the plants.
