Many gardeners prepare compost to increase their chances of getting a great harvest.

But not everyone knows how to use this valuable resource more effectively.

There is a more useful way than simply spreading compost around the garden. It is best to apply the fertilizer directly under the plants themselves.

How to use compost

Before planting, prepare the beds. Make grooves one and a half spade blades wide (≈30-35 cm).

Compost is placed in them and then covered with soil. Plants are planted nearby. In a short period of time, their roots will reach the compost and receive nutrition.

Water for irrigation can be poured directly onto the area with compost. The fermentation process will take place underground, and the plants will receive the carbon dioxide they need.

With this type of compost application, three key issues are resolved at once. Plant roots remain warm, they have access to abundant nutrition and they have enough moisture. They develop fully, do not get sick, and the harvest is greater.
