Winters bring joy to gardeners and vegetable growers less and less often, and all because there is less and less snow. Even the snow that can be collected in the garden will hardly last until spring.
For the garden, this is not just a decoration, but a natural protection of winter crops from freezing, for example, strawberries.
We will tell you what to do if after such a winter the leaves of strawberry bushes suddenly turn black, brown or wither. Do you need to run for seedlings?
1. There is no need to rush to dig up the rosettes, because this plant is cold-resistant with a developed root system. It is quite possible that with the spring warmth the bushes will still come to their senses.
2. At this stage, you need to cut off everything that has changed color. Remove black and brown shoots, clean the beds and loosen the space between the rows.
3. Add phosphorus to the soil - superphosphate solution, ash infusion (1 glass per 10 liters of hot water and leave for 24 hours). You also need to add "Epin", which increases plant immunity.
4. To help the bushes come to their senses faster, the bed should be covered with white material (spunbond) to create comfortable conditions for the strawberries. This method will also protect the sprouts from sunburn.
