Experienced gardeners are confident that anyone can grow a first-class harvest of green peas.

Expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh agrees with this opinion. She listed the rules that will help you achieve the desired result.

So, the first thing to consider when growing peas is the crop’s preferences, which include a love for nutritious and loose soil.

As a rule, gardeners start planting peas at the end of April. By the way, peas can be sown again - approximately in mid-June, immediately after the first harvest.

It is also important to remember to follow crop rotation rules – cabbage or beets are considered the optimal predecessors for peas.

Starting in the fall, take care of preparing the beds – they need to be dug up and generously fertilized with compost.

As is known, peas can be sown both dry and by pre-soaking the seeds. In the second case, the swollen beans should be dried before being laid out on the bed.

To ensure that the plant has enough space to grow and develop, leave a distance of at least 20 cm between the beds and a free area of 10 cm between the seeds. The depth of the furrows should not exceed 3 cm.
