Many people have a mini-tree, a fat plant, growing on their windowsill, which is also called a money tree.
This plant belongs to the family of succulents, which are highly hardy.
These plants bloom very rarely, only in the 5th to 10th year of their life.
In order for the plant to bloom, it needs to be well looked after, provided with good lighting and watering should be kept to a minimum.
Placement of the Crassula
This plant is undemanding to growing conditions, but still feels good on a brightly lit windowsill.
A favorable temperature for it in spring and summer is considered to be 22...28 °C, and in winter days 9...15 °C.
She does not like to be near heating batteries and heating devices, because the leaves and shoots on the plant will begin to fall off.
In warm weather, fresh air will be useful for it, so it is worth taking it out into the yard, balcony, or thoroughly ventilating the room where the fat woman grows.
Correct planting of a money tree
For the fat woman, it is better to purchase special soil or use a mixture for succulents or prepare it yourself.
Take some expanded clay for drainage, sand, leaf soil, peat in a ratio of 3:2:2 and mix.
Place expanded clay on the bottom of the pot, add the resulting mixture on top and plant the fat plant seedling.
To get a young tree, cut a branch from an adult plant and put it in regular water for 3 days, then plant it in a previously prepared soil mixture. An adult plant does not need frequent replanting. This should be done when the pot has become too tight for the plant.
Proper watering of the money tree
It should be watered carefully so as not to over-wet the soil, because a fungal disease may appear immediately. This may be indicated by yellowed, wilted and soft leaves of the fat woman. In warm weather, water the fat woman no more than twice every 7 days.
The soil should be dry to a depth of 3-4 cm.
Take a wooden stick, stick it into the ground, then take it out and examine it.
If it has traces of moisture or tiny lumps of soil attached to it, this means that the fat woman does not need to be watered.
In winter, reduce watering by half. Trim the plant periodically, because it can break from the weight of its own branches.
Properties of the money tree
This plant can clean the air in the room from various microbes, as it has antiviral and antibacterial properties. It can also absorb and store many useful elements and moisture in its leaves.
