Beets, like other plants, need fertilizers, otherwise you can’t count on a rich and beautiful harvest.
But when choosing fertilizers, you should be careful and not throw or pour everything in a row.
Beginner gardeners mistakenly believe that any fertilizer is beneficial. But in fact, this is not true.
An example of this is beetroot and fresh manure. This fertilizer is always in use, every summer resident strives to get it. Some are saved by having livestock.
But fresh manure will definitely harm beets. Fertilizer will not lead to explosive growth, will not increase the juiciness of the fruits.
Ripe beets will be tough. The taste will not please either. In addition, the root vegetable will absorb nitrates contained in the soil. Many will not want to eat such a crop.
It has been noted that fresh manure reduces beetroot immunity to fungal diseases. It is acceptable to use rotted manure as fertilizer for the red root crop.
