Many summer residents grow cherries on their plots, but who can boast of a good harvest?

It is not uncommon for cherries to bloom well in spring, but ultimately yield a minimal harvest.

Therefore, it is worth remembering 5 folk methods that will increase cherry fruiting.

Wood ash

Cherry grows well in light sandy soil, but the acidity should be neutral.

If we consider increased acidity, the risk of fungal diseases increases significantly. Due to high acidity, immunity decreases, and situations are not uncommon when a tree simply dies in winter.

The easiest way to reduce soil acidity is to add wood ash to it. The essence of the method is that you need to remove soil from the hole and mix it with:

  1. Sand – 1 part.
  2. 3 parts of land.
  3. 1 part compost.
  4. A liter jar of wood ash.

You can also add various fertilizers to the soil to help increase fertility. In order to continue to maintain normal soil acidity, the tree trunk circle should be generously sprinkled with wood ash in spring and autumn.

After application, watering is performed.

Eggshell

The main element of eggshell is calcium, which is necessary for normal development of cherry. If you do not want to use complex fertilizers, eggshell will be an excellent solution. It can be applied as a liquid fertilizer or mulched.

To prepare the infusion, you need to perform several steps:

  • rub the eggshells thoroughly;
  • pour boiling water over;
  • Stir regularly for 3 days.

Before use, stir the infusion thoroughly and dilute with water in a ratio of 1 to 20. Some people use the shell in solid form, there is no mistake in this, but the effectiveness of the fertilizers decreases.

Metal

Our grandparents would put a coin in the hole before planting cherries. Many people consider this a trivial sign and superstition, but it's not that simple. Research has shown that if you place two metal objects underground, a geomagnetic field will form that has a positive effect on the plant.

Sand

The method may seem pointless, but many summer residents have long tried it on themselves. The essence of the method: you need to take a handful of river sand and throw it into the flowering crown. You can recall several features of the procedure:

  • Small particles of sand will not harm plants.
  • The pollen will be shaken off the stamens.
  • By reducing the amount of pollen, cross-pollination will improve, and accordingly the number of fruits will increase.

Of course, using this method, you should not expect any serious effect.

Seaweed

Fish meal and seaweed can be used to increase the fertility of cherries. The thing is that these elements have a high iodine content. In the summer, you can find seaweed on the beach of almost any coast. Of course, this method is not suitable for everyone. The fact is that few are located near the coast where you can find seaweed.
