Happy owners of rose gardens often notice, to their chagrin, that the buds that have formed on the rose bushes have not yet blossomed, but have already dried up.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about the reasons for such an unpleasant phenomenon.
1. Rainy weather
Due to constant heavy rains, the saturation of the soil with oxygen decreases. As a result, there is oxygen starvation and a lack of useful elements in the soil.
Experienced gardeners see the solution in creating a film shelter over the roses, as well as loosening the soil in the flower bed and covering it with pine bark mulch.
After the rains have stopped, the bushes can be opened and treated with a solution prepared from 5 g of boric acid dissolved in 10 liters of water.
2. Prolonged heat
Small buds and delayed flowering are the result of roses being exposed to direct sunlight.
Use a shading net as protection. Don't forget to moisten the soil in the flowerbed more often.
3. Sudden changes in temperature
The process of bud formation is directly related to the environment surrounding the rose, and sudden temperature fluctuations lead to the buds remaining closed or fading very quickly.
The way out of this situation is to feed the plants using a growth stimulator.
