Many summer residents, to their chagrin, notice that tomato leaves suddenly begin to curl and dry out.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh explained what could be causing this behavior of the crop.
So, if the leaves curl upward, it is likely that the plant needs magnesium and copper.
To replenish the deficiency, mix 1 teaspoon of copper sulfate and 2 tablespoons of magnesium sulfate in 10 liters of water.
One bush will need 0.5 liters of such feeding.
In turn, leaves curling outward indicate an excess of moisture - the problem can be solved by reviewing the organization of watering the beds.
Sometimes it happens that the leaves begin to curl inward.
Sometimes this may indicate pest infestation, and sometimes it may indicate that the tomatoes need phosphorus.
In the latter case, you will need to pour 5 liters of boiling water over 1 tablespoon of superphosphate and leave the product for a day to infuse. After that, dilute with water to 1 liter and water the beds - 0.5 liters of the prepared solution per bush.
