If you prefer to fight pests that have attacked your garden and vegetable garden using non-chemical methods, traps are one of the effective means.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke about baits that wireworms cannot pass by.
For one of the options, you will need old, spoiled potatoes, which should be immersed in any insecticide and left there for a day.
After 24 hours, bury the potatoes in places where wireworms accumulate.
To remember where the traps are placed, mark these areas with sticks, and after 2 days, visit the garden again to collect the potatoes with the wireworms that have settled in them and burn them.
Pieces of potatoes or carrots can also be placed in glass jars and the containers buried so that their necks remain level with the ground.
This trap is suitable not only for larvae, but also for adult click beetles.
To prevent insects from escaping, it is recommended to cover the neck of the jars with a sheet of paper.
