If you do not want to use a wide range of industrial preparations presented in garden stores, folk recipes will come to the rescue in rooting cuttings.

According to the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , many summer residents in this case use potato tubers.

The goal becomes achievable due to the fact that potatoes contain an impressive amount of nutrients, phytohormones and sugars.

This makes potatoes suitable for rooting cuttings of plants that root poorly, such as roses.

To do this, you will need to select a large potato and remove all the eyes from it.

After the preparatory stage, make a puncture in the tuber and insert the cutting into it 1-2 buds deep.

Don't forget to take care of preparing a trench, the depth of which is 15 cm - this is where you will place the potatoes with the cuttings placed in them.

The bottom of the hole in the ground should be filled with sand, and the top filled with soil. The cutting placed in the potato should be buried in the trench by about two-thirds, and a kind of greenhouse should be built on top - a plastic bottle or glass jar will do for this.

It is worth watering the cutting periodically and removing the covers from it to air it. Full roots should be expected in about 2 weeks, while the seedling will be ready in a month.
