Ficus lovers can propagate their “green pets” at home.

All you need is a little attention and skill. From one plant you can get two, three, four or more cuttings.

In order for the shoot to take root, several nuances must be taken into account. The first concerns the choice of cuttings and cuts.

The shoot should be about 5 cm long. It should be green, without signs of disease or wilting. Choose the shoot that has at least one dormant bud and 2 leaves.

The shoot is cut and immediately placed in water for 30 minutes to release the juice. These manipulations should be performed with gloves, since the ficus juice is poisonous.

At the bottom of the bark, vertical cuts no longer than 2 cm are made. Then the shoot is again placed in water, the temperature of which is not less than +28 °C. The shoot should be immersed in the liquid by about 2 cm.

The shoot is kept in water until roots appear. This process can take several weeks. When the length of the roots reaches at least 5 mm, the plants can be transplanted into the soil.
